In the meantime we are adding e-Bike hire as an option to the booking systems and will use the next few weeks for ‘research’. We have just purchased the first of the e-Bikes for guest hire. It makes climbing the steep stretches of the Bossu, or Reynolds Valley Road seem like a breeze! Fat tires seem to turn the gravel into tarmac and the Q7 1000W power horse does 50km round trips with ease.

We will have a better idea of when we will open the Facility later this week. We are still hoping for a 2019 opening. In the meantime, we have closed the availability of all booking channels until January 3, 2020.

We are now live with our booking system using an Australian based channel manager (resonline) and we are using their booking engine (roommanager) to link to a subset of international and Australian booking agents (BookEasy and Booking.com – available later this week) to start with. We will also be able to process bookings from our website directly and develop a network of our own trusted New Zealand and overseas agents.

There is still some work to do, finalising wording and photographs, building form letters (reminder, welcome and thank you) and there are still a few days’ physical work on the premises to prepare the Lake Cottage for its first guests.

We have added a copy of our Fire and Tsunami Emergency Procedures to our House Rules page on the Lake Cottage Farm Stay Menu. A hardcopy is available at the Lake Cottage. We maintain the Lake Cottage Health & Safety Management Plan and have a policy of continuous improvement of our facility management of the Lake Cottage.
